Approved CDL Training Program
An Approved CDL Training program means that is has proven to be a reputable and proficient institution licensed to operate and train students to be professional truck drivers. Many large national trucking companies offer a company sponsored CDL training program, which is usually an approved-training program. Normally large trucking companies that do not offer a company sponsored CDL training program prefer to hire their new drivers from an approved and certified CDL training program for many reasons. This is because they know that the new driver is a properly trained driver. Approved and certified training also place a great deal of emphasis on the importance of safety. Safety is the top priority, safe drivers are a company asset. A poorly trained truck driver becomes a huge liability and is much more likely to be involved in an at fault accident which can become a huge liability problem for the trucking company. It is highly recommended that you consider attending an approved and certified CDL training program to ensure that you receive the best training possible.This will improve your chances of being hired quickly and landing a good paying driving position.
There are three types of Approved CDL Training programs:
- Licensed CDL Training
- Certified CDL Training
- Accredited CDL Training
- Most trucking and transportation companies prefer to hire new drivers from a certified and/or an approved CDL training truck driving school.
To become an approved CDL training program the school must be licensed and also can be certified as well as accredited but it is not a requirement. If you are planning to apply for a student loan, the lending institution most likely will require that the training program be licensed and may prefer it to be certified and /or accredited.
